Biles wins four golds at the gymnastics championship in Qatar

Victories in the individual all-around, vault and floor, in addition to the women’s team win, brought Biles four gold medals, although she failed to win the hoped-for fifth on the balance beam.

The World Artistic Gymnastics Championships have come to an end in Qatar.

American Simone Biles dominated throughout the competition and was looking to finish on a high. A shaky performance on the balance beam denied her five gold medals, but her victory in the floor routine was enough to bring the US women’s team the gold, followed by Russia and China.

On the men’s side, China took the team gold, with Russia earning the silver and Japan: the bronze.
