IMF gives Argentina $57bn emergency loan

The loan comes with stringent conditions, including a commitment to a zero deficit for 2019.

    President Mauricio Macri has warned Argentinians that meeting the terms of a new International Monetary Fund loan will be painful.

    The emergency loan aims to shore up the country's finances and it comes with tough conditions.
