Erdogan in Germany brings hope for better diplomatic relations

'Milestone' meeting between Turkey's President Erdogan and German Chancellor Merkel may improve diplomatic relations.

    Turkey's foreign minister says a visit by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Germany is a milestone that will open a new page in diplomatic relations.

    Ties have been strained for years and Erdogan's expected to get a frosty reception; protests have been planned and German leaders vowed to bring up human rights abuses in Turkey.
