G7 Summit: Trade frictions dominate talks

World leaders arrived at the G7 summit in Quebec with the US on one side of a trade spat and the six other nations on the other.

US President Donald Trump and his closest allies will try to bridge their differences at the G7 summit on Saturday, before Trump sets off on a mission to make peace with an old enemy.

But there’s little hope they’ll see eye-to-eye on the big issues of trade, or Trump’s suggestion that Russia be re-admitted to their club of nations.
