Catalonia leader ‘to meet’ Spain’s new PM Pedro Sanchez

Quim Torra said he has communicated with Sanchez after the region’s independence bid, but no date has yet been set for talks.

Quim Torra, the leader of the Spanish region of Catalonia, says he will meet the country’s new prime minister, Pedro Sanchez. Torra said he has exchanged messages with Sanchez on the Catalan region’s future following last year’s unilateral declaration of independence, which was declared illegal.

However, no date has yet been set for discussions.
