An elderly English-born Australian man who wishes to end his own life, but was denied state assistance because he is not terminally ill.

    An elderly academic preparing for voluntary suicide says he has no hesitation about ending his life.

    David Goodall - who does not have a terminal illness - has said that he hopes his story will encourage others to take a more liberal view on assisted dying.
