Protests against copper plant in India turn deadly

Anti-pollution protesters have been demanding the closure of a copper smelter in the town of Tuticorin for months.

Police and protesters have clashed for a second day in southern India over the construction of a copper smelter run by parent Vedanta Resources Plc.

People in the area want it to be shut down over concerns of environmental hazards.
