Fighting in Libya: Battle for Derna intensifies

Forces loyal to the renegade General Khalifa Haftar are deployed around the eastern city of Derna, following his announcement of a new military operation to seize back control.

The latest battle in the two-year war for control of a besieged city in eastern Libya has killed at least six fighters, another 14 were wounded in Derna.

The Derna Protection Force is resisting attacks by the self-proclaimed Libyan National Army led by renegade General Khalifa Haftar.
