Syria: Qalamoun fighters arrive in Aleppo after evacuation deal

The fighters had to leave behind their heavy weapons and armoured vehicles.

    In northern Syria, rebel fighters from the Qalamoun area have arrived in northern Aleppo as part of one of the evacuation deals negotiated by regime ally, Russia.

    Many of the fighters belong to the armed group Jaish al-Islam.
