Monthly salaries for Gaza's PA workers a week overdue

Workers' union says it is a deliberate move to increase pressure on Hamas, but Palestinian Authority says delay in paying its Gaza employees' salaries is a 'technical issue', soon to be resolved.

    The monthly salaries for tens of thousands of Gaza-based employees of the Palestinian Authority are now a week overdue.

    The authority, based in the occupied West Bank, says it is a technical glitch.

    The workers' union says it is a deliberate move to increase pressure on Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip.
