India: protesters keep spotlight on sexual assault

Protests continue in India as more people call on the government to take decisive action against sexual assault of women and girls, especially after the rape and murder of 8-year-old Asifa from Kashmir.

    Eight men have been arrested over the abduction, rape and murder of an eight-year-old Muslim girl in Kashmir.

    The arrests came as protests against sexual assaults sweep across northern India.

    Separately, Kuldeep Singh Sengar, an Indian legislator and member of the BJP ruling party has also been arrested for the rape of a teenager.
