US House Speaker Paul Ryan will not seek re-election

The decision is a big blow to Republicans with mid-term elections looming.

    The speaker of the US House of Representatives says he will not seek re-election.

    Paul Ryan is the latest of dozens of Republican House members who have chosen to leave office.

    It comes at a time when some Republicans fear President Donald Trump could lose control of the chamber in the mid-term elections later this year.
