Djibouti port seizure: State-owned company takes charge

The government nationalised the port a week earlier, claiming that the deal struck with Emirati company DP World was one-sided and harming the country.

Djibouti's government has handed management of a port, which it had seized from the UAE, to a state-owned company.

The Doraleh Container Terminal is considered one of the most coveted pieces of real estate in the Horn of Africa.

Djibouti announced its nationalisation last week, triggering a furious response from the Emirates.

Al Jazeera's Mohamed Adow reports from Djibouti.
