US’ Tillerson to visit Turkey, ties strained over Syria

Tillerson will be meeting President Erdogan in what is expected to be a tense discussion over the two countries’ goals in Syria.

Rex Tillerson, US secretary of state, is on his way to Turkey for the last leg of his high-speed tour of the Middle East.

His meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to be one of the most challenging of his trip, with US Turkish relations at a low ebb over events in Syria.
