Sole surviving Paris attacks suspect to go on trial in Belgium

Belgium will be on high alert on Monday as the last surviving suspect in the 2015 Paris attacks, Salah Abdeslam, stands trial in Brussels over a shootout that led to his capture.

    The only surviving suspect from the 2015 Paris attacks is due to stand trial in Belgium.

    Salah Abdeslam is charged with trying to murder Belgium police in a shootout while on the run in Brussels.

    The Belgian-born Frenchman was arrested along with another suspect, four days before bomb attacks killed 32 people in the Belgian capital.
