Pope Francis' farewell mass in Peru ends tour

More than half a million people gathered in Peru to pray with their pope for the first time in nearly 30 years.

    Pope Francis has led a final mass in Lima, bringing his six-day tour of South America to an end.

    He was welcomed by millions of Catholics in Chile and Peru.

    But his trip has also been overshadowed by protests against the covering up of sex abuse cases involving clergy in both countries.

    Al Jazeera's Mariana Sanchez reports from Lima.
