UK defence minister on $6.7bn arms deal with Qatar

    Britain's defence minister has told Al Jazeera he is hoping for a swift end to the political crisis in the Gulf.

    Gavin Williamson made the comments a day after Qatar agreed to buy 24 fighter jets from Britain in a $6.7bn deal.

    Williamson called the sale of the planes - which are set to be delivered in late 2022 - a 'massive vote of confidence' in supporting British jobs.
