    Theresa May left the US summit early with her job done, but EU remains divided on a number of other contentious issues.

    EU leaders have given the go-ahead for Brexit talks to move onto the next stage of negotiations.

    However, the EU remains divided over immigration, with some EU states rejecting the quotas that were agreed to in 2015, as well as other issues.

    Many of the most difficult questions were deferred to future summits.

    Al Jazeera’s Barnaby Phillips reports from Brussels.
