Although reactions to Robert Mugabe's resignation will run the gamut, most will agree that they are glad it happened peacefully.

    Mugabe resigned after 37 years in power and his former lieutenant Emmerson Mnangagwa will likely become Zimbabwe's interim leader.

    While he was a towering figure on the African continent, his influence was also felt around the world.
