    After Senator Al Franken became the latest of a series of high-profile Americans to face allegations of sexual misconduct, President Donald Trump lashed out at Franken's actions while ignoring his own misconduct and that of would-be Senator Roy Moore.

    Democratic Senator Al Franken has apologised, after a radio host accused him of forcibly kissing and groping her more than 10 years ago.

    Franken released a second apology, after many viewed his initial apology as incomplete and lackluster, and he has requested a Senate ethics investigation into his actions.

    But other accused American politicians have not shown any contrition at all.
