Kremlin unease marks centennial of 1917 Bolshevik revolution

Celebrating the Bolshevik revolution's 100th anniversary doesn't fit the modern Russian "stability" narrative.

    It has been 100 years since the Bolsheviks stormed the Winter Palace in St Petersburg - one of the key events in the Russian Revolution.

    The anniversary was a day of pomp and ceremony during Soviet times.

    But these days Russians are less sure what to think.

    Even Russian President Vladimir Putin seems ambivalent about the centennial.
