The Spanish central government in Madrid is preparing to suspend Catalonia's autonomy after Catalan leaders ignored a final deadline to drop secession plans.

    The Spanish central government in Madrid is preparing to suspend Catalonia's autonomy after Catalan leaders ignored a final deadline to drop secession plans.

    The region's President Carles Puigdemont has also threatened to call for a vote on secession in Catalonia's parliament if Madrid refused to enter into talks.
