Foreign visitors shun Tunisia’s Sousse beach

Threat to vital tourism industry evident in deserted state of resort, where an attack a month ago left 38 dead.

A month after an attack on a beach resort in Tunisia left 38 tourists dead, foreign visitors are largely staying away. The attack on the Sousse beach resort last June followed a gun attack on the Bardo National Museum in Tunis in March: two of the worst assaults in Tunisia’s modern history and a pressing threat to its vital tourism industry.
