Israeli soldiers kill Palestinian during West Bank raid
Jihad al-Jafari, 19, shot dead on rooftop after Israeli troops entered the Dheishe camp during dawn raid, witnesses say.

Israeli troops have shot dead a 19-year-old Palestinian during clashes at a refugee camp near Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank, medics have said.
Jihad al-Jafari was killed after soldiers entered the Dheishe camp before dawn on Tuesday, sparking clashes with stone-throwing locals, according to medics and witnesses.
During the incident, Jafari went up onto a rooftop and was hit in the chest by a bullet, they said.
Medics took his body for an autopsy at the Abu Dis forensic institute near occupied East Jerusalem.
The army confirmed a shooting incident happened inside the camp, saying troops opened fire after coming under attack by people throwing stones and incendiary devices, which injured a soldier.
“After trying in vain to disperse the crowd of attackers, our forces felt in danger and opened fire at the leader of the rioters, who was hit,” a spokeswoman for the Israeli army said, without elaborating.
