Hundreds of families who fled to Qalamoun mountains have faced weeks of heavy snowstorms lacking basic needs.

Thousands of Syrian refugees are spending their fourth winter in freezing conditions as the cold weather continues across the region.
Over the last few weeks heavy snowstorms have hit the Qalamoun Mountains, northeast of the capital Damascus, where at least five hundred families are trapped.
