Female racing drivers taking on the field

A pair of female drivers will become the first in 17 years to take part in Bathurst’s V8 ‘supercar’ race.

    Motor racing fans in Australia are getting all revved up for this weekend.

    Bathurst’s V8 ‘supercar’ race - an endurance event - is taking place. Two drivers share 161 laps of track a little over six kilometre long.

    Simona de Silvestro and Renee are the first female pair to compete in it for 17 years.

    Andrew Thomas reports from Bathurst.
