Australians try to save Bali death row inmates

Campaigners urge to stop execution of convicted heroin smugglers Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran in Indonesia.

Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran were arrested in Bali 10 years ago and handed death sentences after being found guilty of smuggling heroin.

A large number of Australians are now making a last ditch attempt to save their lives, saying the pair have been rehabilitated in prison. Vigils and concerts have been held in major cities in a bid to get the Indonesian government to reverse its decision to execute the pair.

Meanwhile, Chan and Sukumaran filed a last-ditch legal appeal on Friday, but the Indonesian attorney-general’s office says it is unlikely to succeed.
