Chinese medics perform world first in surgery

Chinese doctors have announced that they have performed an unprecedented surgery, using stem cells to treat a paralysed patient.

They had been experimenting the method on large animals for more than 10 years.

Doctors say that stem cells can produce tissue regenerative elements, so they can improve the regeneration capacity of the wounded area.

The surgery has yet to come under scrutiny in an industry where reputation is key.
