Calais migrant crisis: French charities hand out food

With the migrant crisis continuing, French charities have been forced to hand out emergency food and medical aid.

Calais is a magnet for migrants, who use it as a jumping-off point to try to get across to Britain.

Charities say they have been forced to intervene as the the response from the French government to the humanitarian crisis has been inadequate.

It is the first time that French charities are intervening on French soil.

Al Jazeera's Laurence Lee reports from Calais.
