Bangladeshi village libraries gain momentum
Initiative to bring resources to remote areas includes the setting up of libraries in small rooms in people’s houses.

A new Bangladeshi campaign to provide villages with better access to books and computers is quietly gaining ground.
The Village Library Movement has brought about 30 libraries to rural areas, many of them occupying small rooms in people’s houses.
Abdus Sattar Khan, the founder, started the initiative by asking friends and family to donate books, and then would share them with youths in his village.
Al Jazeera’s Maher Sattar reports from Bhuwanpur.
