Safe zones sought in south Thailand conflict

Protection demanded for women and children who are often the victims as Muslim separatists begin to target public areas.

Women and children are increasingly being killed by Muslim separatists in southern Thailand.

The fighters have changed their tactics recently and are now detonating bombs in busy public places such as markets and convenience stores.
