Mali refugees see no end in sight to exile

Fighting between armed groups and Mali troops continues to displace ethnic Tuareg, who have fled to neighbouring Niger.

Despite the appointment of a new president exactly one year ago, fighting in northern Mali between armed groups and the government forces is continuing to cause people to flee to neighbouring Niger.

Most of the recent refugees are ethnic Tuareg, a community which straddles the border between Mali and Niger, who say they face discrimination in both countries.

Al Jazeera’s Mohamed Vall reports.
