Armed fighters take over Libyan capital

Government admits it has in effect lost control of Tripoli, while 13 killed in fighting to control Benghazi airport.

Libya’s outgoing government based in the east of the country has admitted that it has in effect lost control of the capital, Tripoli, to armed fighters.

Meanwhile, at least 13 people have been killed in the fighting for control of a civilian and military airport in the eastern city of Benghazi.

Al Jazeera’s Osama Bin Javaid reports.
