Libya’s parliament votes to disband militias

As the country struggles to curb violence, legislators seek to dismantle groups that overthrew Gaddafi.

Libya has been mired in the worst violence since Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown in 2011.

Now its recently-elected parliament has voted to dismantle the militias that have long controlled the fragile democracy.
