Bishkek demolitions leave residents in crisis

Residents of Soviet apartments slated for demolition in Kyrgyzstan capital say they have no place to go.

Soviet-style apartment blocks built decades ago are being knocked down in Kyrgyzstan’s capital to make way for modern homes.

But residents who live in the condemned buildings in Bishkek say they’re being evicted and have nowhere to go.
