Life as an ‘Amerasian’ in the Philippines
Abandoned children of US soldiers continue to face discrimination, as agreement brings more troops to country.

A new agreement between the Philippines and the US would bring more US troops to the country, bringing to the fore the issue of children abandoned by soldiers previously deployed in the country.
Many “Amerasians”, who have been denied US citizenship, complain they face discrimination and live in poverty.
