Sudan marks 25 years of Bashir rule

President Omar al-Bashir has been accused of presiding over war crimes and political repression since taking power.

Sudan is marking 25 years since President Omar al-Bashir came to power in a military backed takeover.

The country has since gone through numerous conflicts and saw its souther, mainly non-Muslim, regions break away to form South Sudan in 2011.
