Rising sea levels force Pakistanis from homes

Environmentalists say nearly 100,000 people have moved further inland in recent years due to salt water contamination.

Tens of thousands of people have left Pakistan’s coastal regions, inhabited since prehistoric times, because of rising sea levels.

Villagers in Sindh province say salt water contamination has made it impossible to grow crops or raise animals.

Conservationists say more than one million hectares of land have become arid due to salinity.
