‘Emergency cinema’ highlights Syria’s war

Short films being screened in New York City provide insight into conflict that is hard to find in news coverage.

Three years of conflict in Syria have produced a new genre of film-making that some are calling “emergency cinema”. The films are short, the film-makers anonymous. But as Al Jazeera’s Kristen Saloomey reports, the work is getting international recognition this week in New York City.
