Al Jazeera’s Sue Turton will use Twitter on Tuesday to answer questions about the sentencing of three Al Jazeera journalists to terms of between 7 and 10 years in jail by an Egyptian court.
Turton was sentenced to 10 years in absentia by the same court that sentenced Peter Greste, Mohamed Fahmy and Baher Mohamed.
Monday’s conviction sparked widespread outrage and cast huge doubt on Egypt’s commitment to press freedom.
Turton will be available on Twitter from 12pm GMT but questions can be sent now using the hashtag #AskAJESue.
