Italy struggles to house refugees from Africa
Coast guards have already rescued 58,000 people in the seas off Italy this year, double the amount for 2013.

More than 58,000 migrants have been rescued off the coast of Italy this year while trying to reach Europe, more than double the amount for the whole of 2013.
The increase has been caused by a rise in the number of people fleeing the conflict in Syria, with more than 100,000 refugees and asylum seekers expected to reach Italy by the end of the year.
Many intend to go to Sweden, Norway Germany and other European countries, but with the EU forcing migrants to apply for asylum in the country of entrance, Italy is bearing the brunt.
