Iraq rebellion sparks mass displacement

Hundreds of thousands flee violence as fighters seize more areas and military battles to reclaim territory.

An estimated 500,000 people have fled the violence sparked by the Sunni-led rebellion in Iraq, and the UN says this might just be the beginning.

Many of those who fled as the city of Mosul fell were displaced for the second time, as they had moved there for safety from other parts of Iraq in recent years.

Al Jazeera’s Hoda Abdel Hamid reports from Khazer, in northern Iraq.
