Iraq soldiers recount fleeing from ISIL

Troops forced to flee city of Mosul blame army leaders for not doing enough to support them when attacked by fighters.

Iraqi soldiers, who were forced to flee Mosul as fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant took over the city, have told Al Jazeera their stories of the battle.

The troops blame the army leadership for not doing enough to support them when they were attacked by the armed group.

Al Jazeera’s Hoda Abdel-Hamid reports from Khazer, in northern Iraq.
