Ghana children work in toxic haze of e-waste

Environmentalists describe dumping ground for electronics from Europe and North America as most toxic place on Earth.

Many children in Ghana have no choice but to work at one of the world’s biggest electronic dumping grounds, with waste coming from North America and Europe.

The levels of poisonous lead in the fumes from the equipments they dismantle with their bare hands are 100 times the recommended maximum level, posing a serious danger to the nervous system.
