Afghanistan tightens security ahead of voting

Security forces in Afghanistan have been put on high alert ahead of the presidential runoff vote.

Former Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah, who survived an assassination attempt last week, is expected to defeat his opponent, Ashraf Ghani in Saturday’s vote in Afghanistan.

There are, however, concerns that an increase in Taliban attacks, in recent weeks, could affect voter turnout.
