India’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has said that resignation of two of its party members was not accepted and the issue would be discussed during its national executive meeting on June 6, according to Reuters news agency.

Reportedly, senior AAP leader, Yogendra Yadav, resigned as member of Political Affairs Committee (PAC) and in-charge of northern Haryana state, taking moral responsibility of party’s poor performance during general elections.

Addressing a news conference in the capital, New Delhi, AAP leader Sanjay Singh said that Yadav’s resignation was not accepted and the matter would be discussed soon.

“He (Yogendra Yadav) is still a part of the party. Whatever issues are there will be discussed in the national executive meeting beginning from June 6. Yogendra Yadav has resigned as the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) member and as party unit in-charge of Haryana, but his resignation has not been accepted,” said Singh.

Meanwhile, another AAP leader, Naveen Jaihind, also resigned as a member of national executive body of the party.

Jaihind is convenor of Haryana and had contested from Rohtak constituency. Jaihind said he had raised issue of volunteers and Yadav had complaint against him.

“Yogendra Yadav said if the party does not take any action against me, he will resign. I was the national executive member and I told the party members that if he has so many problems with me, I am resigning from my post and will work as a volunteer,” said Jaihind.
