Rape survivors hope for justice in DRC

Military court to deliver final verdict in case involving soldiers accused of raping 130 women and girls in 2012.

Victims of an alleged mass rape in the Democratic Republic of Congo are waiting to hear if their attackers will be brought to justice.

A military court will be giving its verdict in a case involving dozens of Congolese soldiers accused of raping 130 women and girls in November 2012, in the town of Minova.

Rape is commonly used as a weapon of war and hundreds of thousands of people are raped every year in the country.
