Philippines boosts patrol of disputed islands

Disputes in South China Sea ignite anti-China sentiments and unite the Philippines and Vietnam against China.

Disputes in the South China Sea have seen anti-China sentiments rising among neighbouring countries.

Both the Philippines and Vietnam have agreed to jointly oppose China for setting up an oil rig in the contested area.

The Philippines has now stepped up patrols around the disputed islands, but maritime authorities said it was not easy to watch over such a vast sea given their limited capabilities.
