Thousands of protesters have taken to the streets of Bangkok to call for the caretaker government to step down, nearly a week after the country’s constitutional court removed Yingluck Shinawatra from her prime minister post for abuse of power.
The demonstrators are asking for a people’s council to be set up so that urgent reforms can be carried out.
They also oppose elections scheduled for July, which the current government is likely to win.
