Political divide reflected in Korean language
Decades of isolation mean more than half the words commonly used in North Korea differ from those used in the South.

More than 60 years after conflict divided North and South Korea politically, the effects of the split have become apparent in the dialects of the Korean language spoken in the two countries.
Half of the words commonly used in the North Korea are now different from those used in the South.
Researchers from both countries are working on a unified dictionary to help bridge the divide.
